The PMP exam is a single, 230-minute (3 hour and 50 minute) test. It consists of 180 questions, which include multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot, and limited fill-in-the-blank questions. The exam includes two 10-minute breaks where you cannot review questions from the preceding section.

It’s challenging but very passable with good preparation. PMI doesn’t publish an official pass rate anymore, but most reputable prep providers report first-time pass rates of 80–95% for students who complete their full course and practice exams. The current exam is heavily scenario-based and tests application, not just memorization.
PMP is valid for 3 years. To renew, you must earn 60 PDUs (Professional Development Units) in that period basically 60 hours of learning or giving back to the profession (courses, webinars, teaching, volunteering, etc.). Then you report them online and pay the renewal fee.
