The ASE G1 exam tests knowledge of basic maintenance and light repair tasks on automobiles. It is designed for technicians starting in auto repair who perform routine services like oil changes and brake inspections.
The ASE G1 covers engine systems, automatic transmissions, manual drive trains, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical systems, and heating and air conditioning.
