ATI TEAS is a entrance exam used by nursing and allied health programs in the U.S. to assess a prospective student's readiness for a healthcare-related curriculum.
ATI TEAS, Version 7, consists of four main sections:
1. Reading: Covers key ideas & details, craft & structure, and integration of knowledge & ideas using various text types.
2. Mathematics: Includes numbers, algebra, measurement, data interpretation, and a new section on basic statistics.
3. Science: Focuses on human anatomy & physiology, life and physical sciences, and scientific reasoning.
4. English: Tests knowledge of conventions of standard English, language, and vocabulary.
The test lasts 209 minutes (about 3.5 hours), with time limits for each section.
You will receive several scores, but the most important one is your Total Score, which is a composite of all four sections. It is presented as a percentage. You will also receive individual scores for each section.
A "GOOD" score depends entirely on the requirements of the nursing or health science programs you are applying to. Generally:
You register for the TEAS through the official ATI Testing website. You can choose to take the exam online with a remote proctor or in-person at a testing center or at many schools that offer it.
ATI allows you to take the TEAS exam up to three times in a year. However, individual schools often have their own stricter policies.
Effective preparation is key. We recommend:
Underestimating preparation time—about 40% of test-takers retake it. Common pitfalls include skipping ATI TEA practice exams or ignoring science sections. Start early, review all content areas, and simulate test conditions for the best results.
